Stays, Ebay Auction c.2004  This is a rare 1740-1760 early American colonial time period corset/stays. Made of two tone tan linen that is laid over what is probably rows of cane that are tightly hand stitched into place. A band of thin cotton extends down the front seam. The top edge and bottom hem and flaps are lined with kid leather. The inside is lined with heavy tan homespun linen. Bust 34". Waist 26". Front length 12". Back length 13.5".
