Creepy Amazing Stories - Voynich Manusript
Creepy Amazing Stories - Voynich Manusript . repinner-obviously this was a very smart left handed female scholar or pagan/witch who copied her notes in her own langauge for fear of being burned at the stake and tortured. (That is what I would do if I lived in that time period. )
The Voynich manuscript is a work carbon-dated to the early 15th century (1404–1438), possibly from northern Italy. It is named after the book dealer Wilfrid Voynich, who purchased it in 1912. Some pages are missing, but there are about 240 vellum pages, most with illustrations. Much of the manuscript resembles herbal manuscripts of the 1500s. However, most of the plants do not match known species, and the manuscript's script and language remain unknown.
What we know about the Voynich manuscript: it’s 246 pages, it was discovered in an Italian monastery in 1912, it consists of words and illustrations, it’s … well, it’s a manuscript. What it says, or whether it says anything at all, remains a mystery, even to linguists, chemists, historians, and physicists.
