A shot from a an ice cold december night at a frozen inlake called Takvatn, 1hr drive inlands from Tromsø, northern Norway. Fantastic conditions with 50cm crystal clear frozen ice, for reflections of the aurora. Svínafellsjökull glacier in Iceland
Does this photo make anyone else feel uneasy? I love glaciers, hiking alongside them, on them in Winter (and getting married at the bottom of them, as you do). But the thought of ice climbing fills me with dread. Specifically looking down into deep crevasses, eek. This is #Svínafellsjökull, an outlet glacier of #Vatnajökull in Iceland. It’s easily accessible and the vantage point from the trail gives you a good sense of scale as to how gigantic those pieces of ice are. #iceland #glacier
