Pentti Sarpaneva (1925-1978) is one of Finlands best known Modernist jewellers. One of his best known designs is Pitsi, which is Finnish for lace. This design began when Sarpaneva started making plaster moulds of Rauma lace. Rauma is a Finnish town known for its high quality lace making which began in the 18th century.
