Summer Art for Kids with Sgraffito Technique Oil Pastels
Tropical landscapes were fun to create in this sgraffito style! Students drew their designs, then colored a first layer of bright hues with oil pastel, before covering the whole thing (minus the sun) with black oil pastel. Scary for first timers to black out their art! Next they got to bring back their image by scratching away the black, but leaving some for visual effect. Incredibly messy, but an incredibly fun summer art project for kids!
