We needed a place to store our many LEGO bricks but also a place where the building structures could stay out on display for a while. And we needed the entire LEGO table to be movable. I needed a tiny shelf on my bathroom wall but IKEA offered only bigger ones. So I used 3 pieces of the smaller VARIERA shelf insert to make a small bathroom shelf shelf. You can try using other quantities or the bigger one as well.

I added a red plastic chopping board that I bought at the World Market, to match with the color of my kitchen. I use the main container at the bottom for potatoes, because it is perfectly ventilated but covered. And I place accessories on the shelves to have other vegetables (tomatoes, onions) at hand.

Her post has since gathered over 9,000 likes with 4600 retweets. She writes, “Wanted a kitchen island but my kitchen is not big and I didn’t have a lot of budget for it. Nevermind. Just DIY.”

In this IKEA hack, we upgraded the GODMORGON vanity look with a live edge white oak countertop, chrome handles, Kohler top-mount sinks and wall-mounted Grohe faucets for a more luxurious look.

I trawled Google looking for someone that had managed to fit the new rack on the old bench. But I only read people saying that the new kitchen island was different and that it wouldn’t be possible. For $100 I thought it would probably be worth a try so picked one up.

I wanted to hide the mess and make the island fit more with the coastal decor of my beach house and look more permanent and custom. So I came up with a plan to hack it: The hack itself was very simple. I cut some scraps of beadboard to size to fit between the legs on the sides of the island.
