New images from Webb show Jupiter in jaw-dropping detail. In fact, the detail is so fine that you can make out the evanescent rings of Jupiter.
All eight planets are fascinating in their own way, however, the gas giant Jupiter is arguably the most interesting. From the first time Galileo pointed his telescope at Jupiter over 400 years ago and saw that it had a moon system, mankind has been captivated by this massive planet.
All eight planets are fascinating in their own way, however, the gas giant Jupiter is arguably the most interesting. This is due to its massive size, 70+ moons, and Great Red Spot. From its intense magnetic field to its role in the formation of our Solar System, Jupiter is truly a captivating planet.
A Nebula is named after the Greek word for “cloud”. Nebulae (plural) come in many shapes and sizes and have a way of captivating those that observe and photograph these deep sky objects in space.

A solar eclipse is a celestial event where the moon passes between the Sun and planet Earth, resulting in the moon blocking our view of the Sun (either totally or partially) from a particular point on Earth. There are three different types of solar eclipses: Partial: A portion of the Sun is covered Annular: A ‘ring of fire’ shines around the moon, centered in front of the sun Total: The Sun is fully covered by the moon
The moon through my telescope. This type of experience is one of the many reasons I love astronomy and space!
The Horsehead Nebula, Flame Nebula, and Orion Nebula lie very close to Orion’s Belt in the night sky from our perspective on Earth. The Horsehead Nebula is located just below Alnitak, and the Flame Nebula is directly next to it. The Orion Nebula is in “Orion’s Sword“, below the belt of Orion. Together, these deep-sky objects provide a wonderful opportunity for astrophotography with a wide-field telescope or telephoto camera lens.
The Celestron StarSense Explorer Dob is one of the best telescopes for a beginner becasue it delivers impressive views, and provides guidance to locate objects in the night sky. See my full review!
