Advent is the time for Christmas markets: there are about sixty markets across the city. Weihnachtsmärkte is one of the most popular Christmas markets in Berlin during the festive season. Framed by the Französischer Dom, the Konzerthaus and the Deutscher Dom, a small tent city with more than 1,000 strings of light appears like magic each year in this centrally-located square. #Berlin

The view from the West could look like this. The artist Yadegar Asisi consists of a panorama of the daily routine on both sides of the Berlin Wall on an autumn day in the 1980s at Checkpoint Charlie at the corner of Friedrichstraße and Zimmerstraße. The Berlin Wall was a barrier that divided Berlin from 1961 to 1989. #Berlin
