This English silk brocade dress, though radically altered later, was said to have been worn by Maria Henrietta Pinckney at the inaugural ball for George Washington in April 1789.
ca 1840 "old gold" colored silk satin wedding dress with ornate ornamentation on sleeves (see close up picture). Also came with a short cape with an edging of white swan's down. England.
