This was an entrance to the fortress of the island Tierra Bomba about 10-15 mins from Cartagena #Colombia. Really interesting fortress with clever architectural features. And some pitch-black corridors full of little bats! And yes we did walk through them! A visit to Tierra Bomba with the public ferries is a more tranquil option compared to Isla Rosario and other more commonly visited islands. Go off-the-beaten-track and come here!
This is how it looks like at the Desierto de la Tatacoa in #Colombia truly surreal landscpe in the middle of a tropical climate. But what an interesting and beautiful place. And very hot and humid. We had a nice hike here and you can have too but be prepared with plenty of water and a camera!
For three days we trekked zigzagging in the only primary rainforest in Borneo inside the huge Danum Valley Conservation area. It was just amazing!! We saw i.e. wild orang-utans red leaf monkeys flying squirrels one flying lemur (!) and a civet with three babies! And the trees were enourmous like this several meters wide and as tall as the eye can see! . . These are the lungs of our planet. They give us all life. We have to protect them. . . #photography #nature #weather #amazing…

We had this beautiful sunset that painted the sky in reddish purple over at the "la Mar de Bien" near the Tayrona National Park (Parqué National Natural de Tayrona) in #Colombia famous for its beaches. Tag someone in the comments who you'd like to share this view with!?

She turned 13 years today! She is Trece our beloved little rescue dog who has been our daily joy for 11 years already! She has been suffering from epilepsy for years but with the right medication and her true winner spirit she has come this far already! Would you show her some love? Thank you!
Under the streets of Budapest in Hungary lies a labyrinth that has seen the horrors of the centuries past. It has been a harem a hospital and a prison that in the 15th century held its most famous prisoner; Vlad Tepes better known as Vlad the Impaler. Read more about this haunted bizarre labyrinth from our blog --> link in bio!
A street view from the little island of Tierrabomba in Colombia. This is one of the islands near the coast of Cartagena but Tierrabomba in one of those less visited ones. There is a great fortress and friendly people. I took this shot of one of the main "streets" when we were walking back to the harbor. Tierrabomba had a very Caribbean feeling and the houses were traditionally colorful though I think that the b/w -version shows the atmosphere more originally here.
One of the churches of Popayán also called "La Ciudad Blanca" ("white city") in the dusk. This city in #Colombia seemed to have two very different faces. It was full churches and seemed to be very religious then on the other hand when nights decended there were lots of hookers drugs and gambling around. Hmm.
These metal chess players sit in a square in the historical center of Cartagena de Indias in There were also other sculptures made out of scrap metal on the square. Made out a fun scene with people sitting all around.
A street photography shot from Cartagena in #Colombia. These two men were looking at my friend who was taking a picture of a mural nearby. I thought this situation looked quite funny when their positions were in unison so I took their picture. Men like these selling hats were present in every town around Colombia but especially in Cartagena.
I took this lovely little waterfall (w/ my iPhone 6 and Camera app) on a rainy day when we were hiking and exploring in the Parque Arquelógico de San Agustín and its intriguing ancient statues. Very little is known about the statues here and the people who sculpted them but this Unesco World Heritage Site is said to be the most important archeological site on the whole continent. That means even more important than the Machu Picchu. Having now visited them both I can actually understand why…
