HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF NOT GETTING SICK
Before all the increased worries and scares of getting sick with COVID-19, I started writing this blog post. This was almost a month ago. I was upset because I spent a day of my President’s Day weekend home with a fever. I easily wanted to blame my students…or even more the parents. You see, this school year I have been sick almost every single month with some sort of cold. It was usually a few days after I notice one or more of my students sick while at school. #parents #school #sick #health

HOW TO GET YOUR CHILD TO WANT TO READ
One of the biggest concerns that I hear from with parents is hard is to get their child to read. As a parent and a teacher, of a son, who self-proclaims they hate reading. HOW TO BUILD CLASSROOM CULTURE
The teaching profession 79% white. I know what it feels like to be the “first” or the “only” in various scenarios in districts that I worked in – except in my classroom. With being the minority in my profession, I learned how to adapt and assimilate to work with the majority. But as I taught with my white teachers for over 10 years, I noticed one thing…they have been slow to adapt to their diverse classroom. 33 BOOKS ON RACE FOR K-12 CLASSROOMS
When I was 7 years old, I remember my first encounter with racism. It was at my elementary school. A boy who was in a grade level ahead of me would tell me I needed to get down on the floor (while pointing down) and clean his shoes because I was Black. After reaching out to almost 1,000 teachers from various grade levels and content areas, the number one teacher challenge they have: How to get students engaged or motivated in the classroom? I’m going into my 10th year teaching middle school. Before that I usually taught at alternative schools, where “at-risk” at-hope students would attend. Often when I tell people this, it’s like they get a sense of relief. More!..👉💖 www.blikebianca.com #Engage #Motivate #Students #Classroom

24 EXAMPLES OF CLASSROOM ROUTINES AND PROCEDURES
Years ago when I did student teaching, my cooperating teacher had me observe classroom rules, routines, and procedures from a variety of teachers. This was one of the single most important things she had me do. It was an effective task where I was able to observe and note not just how I wanted my future classroom to run, but definitely how I did NOT want it to run.
