'Who Will Comfort Toffle?' by Tove Jansson, 1960 Tove Jansson has been one of my favorite illustrators since I was a little girl. The way she can tell a story wit the colors and shapes sends me straight back to my childhood.

Simply including 'exploits' in the title of a children's book earns my undying admiration, but Tove Jansson somehow managed to combine Scandinavian homely charm with existential terror.
