Two of my favorite fine motor development tools are playdough and pony beads. In this activity children press the pony beads into a shallow playdough tray. For the tray I used the top of a cookie tin but you can use electric burner covers as well. Children can make any kind of a design they like with the pony beads and when they are done they remove the beads and put them back in bowl.
