October Leaves Fingerless Mitts pattern by Abbie Tilden
Autumn calls for just a little bit of warmth while you’re picking apples, raking leaves, and comparing FOs at Rhinebeck. These mitts are designed for just that, with paired falling leaves growing out of a simple bittersweet vine into an elegant thumb gusset, and a matching cable tracing the edge of the hand for balance. You can start these on Friday evening and have them done in time to wear to work on Monday morning.
A few Baa-ble hats

You can see more photos of each version by clicking on the knitter's name - it will link you to their Ravely page. I love the turquoise sky in Ribbels' version Look at these fantastic colour choices from…

Moose Camouflage Hat
Moose walk through the trees on this earflap hat. Designed for cold weather, it is knit with two and occasionally three colors per row and has a sewn-in lining. Worked at 7 1/2 stitches to the inch, it is sized for an adult man, and size changes are best made by changing the needle size and gauge. The pattern uses approximately 30 yards each of 16 colors of greens and browns and is perfect for the knitter with the large stash.
Sitka Spruce Half Mitts pattern by Diana Twiss
These mittens begin with a 3 x 1 rib stitch border followed by the Coin Lace pattern throughout. The thumb gusset expands gently from base of wrist in stocking stitch. You can follow the pattern exactly as written or you can customize them by altering the length of the wrist, the length to the thumb and the final length. Free Ravelry pattern.
