I've found this to be completely true. And people who are energy and time drains will (usually) not go out of their way to spend time on you.

You don't need to waste your time on someone who only wants you around when it fits their needs.

ahhh, yes, I will try.

If someone in consistently inconsistent, and their actions don't match up with their words - it's time to let them go.
