the sun is setting behind a tree with text over it that reads, why are most everyone drawn to the visual settings of east africa?
Our attraction to the Savannah plains of East Africa is based on our evolutionary memories. There is something called the Savannah Hypothesis and this suggested that we have an innate preference for the kinds of visual settings of East Africa. Why? The theory is that this is the place that we originated from as a species and that we are somehow genetically programmed to favour the visual settings that increased our likelihood of survival. #cooop #designforbehaviour #envirohacking #evidenc...

We know that green spaces are good for us but recent findings in the US and now also in South Africa demonstrate clearly that the greenest urban areas also have the lowest crime and that crime can in fact be reduced by making troubled urban spaces more green. The field of research is still pretty young and the exact mechanism is not yet known. #cooop #designforbehaviour #envirohacking #evidencebaseddesign #designthinking #experiencedesign #humancentreddesign #humanbehaviour #interiordesign #a... Our ancient brain circuits tell us that curves are soft and inviting and activates areas associated with reward and pleasure. Sharp corners, think teeth and claws activate fear detecting response systems signalling environmental risk. #evidencebased #evidencebaseddesign #humancentreddesign #designforbehaviour #design #architecture #interiordesign #neuroarchitecture #neuroscience #humanbehaviour #humanbehavior #design...
