Frantz Fanon (1925–61) Martinique-born Algerian French psychiatrist, philosopher, revolutionary & writer influential in the fields of post-colonial studies, critical theory, & Marxism. A politically radical intellectual & an existentialist humanist concerning the psychopathology of colonization & the human, social, & cultural consequences of decolonization. Member of the Algerian National Liberation Front, he inspired anti-colonial national liberation movements in Palestine, Sri Lanka & USA.
