Martta Wendelin was a Finnish artist whose work was widely used to illustrate fairy tales and books, postcards, school books, magazine and book covers.

"Kalevala interpretive art"  Missy Birgit says this includes a form of the Pernio dress, a museum costume interpretation that cannot be supported by any archaeological finds.  The bronze-spiral decorated apron can be found in the archaeological record but the rest is conjecture.
