I discovered himmeli, which are traditional Finnish Christmas decorations, in a somewhat roundabout way. Himmeli | by finnarct

"Himmeli" is a traditional Finnish Christmas decoration, a mobile. This one has a unique structure and material. It is made of reed (Phragmites australis), not of rye and one of the four moving elements is inside, in the middle. I bought it today, from a former fisherman, who had made it by himself.
