Victorian Satin Ball Gown Period Dress Reenactment Theatre Clothing PUNK 119 XL
Not sure if dress is truly vintage or not because this pin lacked a date, but if it is then I'm guessing it's from the first half of the 19th century. I'd welcome input from someone more knowledgeable.
Two-piece dress, Sweden, 1865. Pink silk moiré with white bobbin lace on machine-made tulle and white silk tulle. Hand- and machine-sewn. Skirt has eight panels. Hallwyl Museum, Sweden -- Reminds me of Cinderella's ballgown before her step sisters ripped it up
By 1842, Victoria would have been, 23, and trying to appear very grown up. The skirts are widening (as are the hips and bust line after bearing two children), and do so even more in 1847 when she would have already had five children.
