Wyatt Earp - In March 1881, he set out to find a posse of cowboys who had robbed a stagecoach and its driver. Earp struck a deal with rancher, Ike Clanton who dealt regularly with the cowboys. In return for his help, Earp promised Clanton a $6,000 reward. Their partnership quickly dissolved due of Clanton's paranoia that Earp would leak the details of their bargain. Turning against Earp, Clanton bragged that he would kill one of the Earp men. ck

Wyatt Earp is probably the cowboy that’s had the most movies about him. His famous “gunfight at the OK Corral” has been adapted by everyone from John Sturges to John Ford, and has been played by everyone from Kurt Russell to Randolph Scott – he’s even set to be portrayed by Harrison Ford AND Val Kilmer in two projects.
