Mandolin watch of enamelled gold, made by David Gide, Paris, circa 1800. The watch is concealed in the hinged back of the body of the instrument where there is a casemaker’s number. The sound hole, bridge and edge of the body of the instrument and back of the neck are set with half pearls. The peg box and neck are enamelled black, with yellow dots in the centre of each fret.
