HAMK was formed out of seventeen educational institutions. Horticulture education in Lepaa celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011. A vocational school bearing the name of Fredrika Wetterhoff was established in 1885, while agriculture training began in Mustiala in 1840. Forestry education began in Evo in 1862. By Finnish standards, HAMK’s operations are very deeply rooted.
