Arabia Paratiisi jar with lid
The Paratiisi jar with lid by Arabia is adorned with Birger Kaipiainen's yellow-blue theme that gives a timeless, summery spirit for the abundant floral pattern. Arabia’s Paratiisi, Finnish for paradise, was designed by Birger Kaipiainen, the award-winning Finnish ceramic artist. The tableware features a simple and beautiful shape complemented by a rich design of fruits, violets and black currants. Created in 1969, Paratiisi is still one of Finland’s most beloved tableware classics.
Trendsetters of Tomorrow
Uudenmankatu is chocka with little boutiques that prick the imagination and turn out to be surprisingly diverse in their collections. Take IvanaHelsinki (Uudenmaankatu 15) for example. So you’ve probably heard of Paola Suhonen as a designer, filmmaker and artist. Her shop tells a story of its own as does every collection she puts forward seasonally. Her Rotterdam collection for the winter speaks of Scandinavian melancholy embodied in lacy dresses and bold prints reminiscent of the 60’s.
Second Hand Shopping in Helsinki
We're more than proud to say that second hand scene is alive and well in Helsinki. Among the traditional flea markets, there is a huge variety of vintage shops and stores with lots of new arrivals. Kallio and Punavuori are the number one areas when it comes to vintage shopping. However, budget chain stores like Fida, Reuse Center and UFF you can find in practically every corner of the city. HTW picked out our favorites!
