The Gaggenau Vario VF 414 deep frier. Perfect for clogging the arteries. Also makes your home a burger joint. Fits nicely not exactly next to the Vario VG 491 gas cooktop (how do you spell food oil fire?
The Iittala Tools L saucepan with lid by Björn Dahlström For the little things. Tiny footprint, only 18 cm base, same as the L casserole. Actually don't use this pretty much at all for sauces, because of the more suitable sauteuse.
The Iittala Tools cast iron frying pan (26 cm) by Björn Dahlström (1998). My go to pan for steaks and pretty much all properly hot frying. Used for almost 10 years, still as good as new. Can't quite fit a grown Limousine's Porterhouse, but already weighs a ton. Iittala used to make a 28 cm version, but since that had the weight of a dying sun, no one could lift it and they didn't sell (m)any so it was discontinued.
The Iittala Tools 41 x 37 x 6 cm oven pan by Björn Dahlström Perfect for all the things the smaller one works for, except fits more stuff. Requires an unusually large oven and the shape could less square, but I'm not complaining.
The Iittala Tools 28 cm coated frying pan with no lid by Björn Dahlström (1998). Previously had the 28 cm coated sauté pan with lid, but the first one had a manufacturing defect and the second one got warped, so I swapped it for a larger lidded coated sauté pan and similar sized non-lidded coated frying pan. The coating is reasonably good, used to be ceramic, now "Hard-tec", which is a teflon like polymer by DuPont as far as I know.
The Iittala Tools 30 cm sauté pan with lid by Björn Dahlström (1998), no longer available. I've had two smaller ones of these, first one had a problem with the fixture of the handle, second got warped due to user error (stove too hot), this third, bigger one, is still in use. Very easy to clean, the vast size makes this a bit cumbersome on the stove, but it does allow for easy preparation of larger batches of food.
The Iittala Tools L sauteuse by Björn Dahlström The perfect little thing for person sauces. Might have to upgrade to the L for those occasions when there's more than 4 people eating. Love the slightly widening bowl and elegant lines.
