JFK 1937

A young JFK, on a tour of Europe just before the outbreak of war, where he bought "a dachshund of great beauty" in Germany. The dog became a mascot on the journey. We aren't aware that JFK had dachshunds while President however. SO AWESOME!

The good old times of childhood :) when parents would actually let their kids spray each other with the garden hose. I'm glad my mom let us have water fights :) we used ice cream buckets AND the garden hose.

Golden Gate bridge - opening day. 1937

The Golden Gate Bridge opened on May linking Marin to San Francisco. Pedestrians had the bridge to themselves on opening day. The next day, cars started crossing. (Photo provided by the Golden Gate Bridge District)
