Mary Kay shows us a fine lace shawl, made in Unst c.1930. Thankyou, everyone, at the Shetland guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers for a really inspiring, thought-provoking, and for me very humbling afternoon #amongknittinglegends #knitting #Shetland #inspiredbyshetland

This Teacup spindle features a spalted tamarind whorl and African blackwood shaft. Please note the whorl has numerous small holes or grooves which are typical of this type of wood and are caused by the boring bugs or worms that cause the spalting effect. All surfaces have been finely sanded and polished. The spindle is approximately 9 inches long and 0.51 oz. Please see the "Types of Spindles" link at the top of the page for more information on Teacup spindles.
