This walnut brown kirtle is inspired by a german altar piece from 1470 (The Birth of Mary, Master of the Life of the Virgin). It is worn by a working woman. It is made of wool tabby. The bodice is lined with a sturdy linen fabric and closes in the front with a lucet cord running through handmade eyelet holes. The skirt is pleated to the bodice with knife pleats.
