It's quick, painless, and the best part is you don't have to figure out a way to awkwardly hold your piece upside down while you struggle to trim a foot ring.  The first video I made showing this process was so popular I figured it deserved a second installment, this time with a bottle form.  Bottles and narrow necked vases are tricky and time consuming because you often need to create a custom sized chuck to trim a foot ring into the bottom and you risk damaging or distorting the top during that process.  I just got tired of the process and it occurred to me one day to simply dent the bottom up and save myself the trouble and you still technically create a foot ring by making the bottom concave Pottery Trimming, Vase Forms, Ceramics Wheel, Pottery Tutorials, Ceramic Bottles, Handbuilt Ceramics, Save Myself, Pottery Tips, Large Bowls
