I always start way too many seeds indoors and end up with far more seedlings than I can use. So I now I set aside one raised bed that I call the “nursery bed” to contain the extras until I need them. This allows me to get them out of their containers and into the soil where they can grow and thrive. Then later I can use them as backups or for succession planting as space becomes available elsewhere in the garden. And it saves all my extra cool-season seedlings from ending up in my compost bin!
