Justin Agustin on Instagram: "Hamstring and quad strength are pivotal for knee stability and health as they balance forces around the knee joint. Strong quads stabilize the patella while powerful hamstrings counteract anterior shear forces. Weakness in these muscle groups can lead to imbalances, placing excessive stress on the knee, potentially causing instability, misalignment, and strain. Sedentary living exacerbates this by promoting muscle weakness and tightness, impairing joint mobility, and altering biomechanics. Consequently, compromised knee stability and increased vulnerability to strain ensue, often manifesting as pain, particularly during movement or weight-bearing activities, highlighting the critical role of exercise in maintaining knee health. Megan Dahlman on Instagram: "😩 “I have bad knees and can’t squat! What should I do?” I hear this all the time - at least once a day. Don’t worry, I’ve got a great progression to help you build knee strength gradually so you can get back to squatting with confidence (because YES - it’s possible!! 🙌)

1️⃣ Start with Hip Hinges: This move helps strengthen your hips and glutes (essential for strong knees) without putting any strain on your knees
2️⃣ Work on Single Leg Balancing Moves: This improves your balance and builds the all-important stabilizing strength around your knees.
3️⃣ Finally, try very Shallow Squats: Start small and gradually increase your range of motion as your knees get stronger.

👉 Practice these moves consistently, and you’ll see dramatic improvement!
