Leisel meminger

Liesel Meminger is now a foster child to a new family of Hubermann's. Her brother is dead and she feels as if her mom has abandoned her. Liesel and Rudy become good friends throughout the book. At first, she cannot read or write, but eventually becomes intrigued by books. She steals majority of the books she has, but some of them were given to her. Liesel becomes close friends with Max while he is staying in their home. She soon finds out that they have a lot in common.
