The second part of my little coastal weekend getaway was spent in Monterey, California. Old Monterey Inn was kind enough to host us, and I can't say enough about our stay there. The tudor-style property is as charming as it looks, built in 1929 and occupied by the first mayor of Monterey. It has since changed hands and after a thoughtful restoration, it opened as a bed & breakfast in 1978.
