It’s Pizza Week at The Kitchn, and let’s get right down to it with a look at some stunning outdoor pizza ovens. Yes, these wood-burning ovens are a luxury that may be out of reach for many of us (especially those of us who live in apartments!), but we can’t resist a little daydreaming to while away the Monday after a holiday weekend. Which pizza oven is your favorite? Which would you build, if you won the lottery?
With help from Midas quality tools, building your own pizza oven is the perfect weekend project #Nuts&Bolts4Breakfast The function of a masonry oven is to trap and radiate heat from a fire, built inside the oven. The design of a pizza oven is heat-efficient, allowing the use of stored heat and coals for long bakes instead of requiring a live fire at all times. For more http://bit.ly/nutsandbolts4breakfast
This is my outdoor cooking set up, constructed from 16 railway sleepers and oak doweling. The oven is a size large big green egg and the pizza oven is a primo 60 which has been painted with heat resistant spray to match the BGE. Slabs have been placed under each oven to prevent charing of the timber. Further work may include a cupboard or drawer system underneath.
