The dark iridescent Tahitian pearls are my preferred type of pearl as the other types are frequently recreated in costume plastic jewellery, whereas the Tahitian dark pearls are much more difficult to copy in cheap plastic, as they can't replicate the iridescent properties of the real McCoy natural variety and preferably having some that are slightly irregular by not being perfectly spherical as grow naturally reassures they are the 'real deal'
