Hi, all! Well, it has been quite a week, with the ending of this year's Hands2Help Challenge - and that means I've been too busy to work on my Wedge Play quilt (boo...)! And this is the last Wednesday of the month, too. So I'm probably not going to get it finished before June 1, but I'll definitely finish it before July 1! This is one of those quick and easy make in a weekend-style quilts that Valerie loves. It raids some of your stash - or a jelly roll that has been lurking(!). You just combine some piano keys with a co-ordinating background fabric. Valerie also gives you some helpful hints on how to quick piece these and then you can re-trim (if necessary) to make them into a perfect square before piecing them into rows. #quilt #scrappyquilt #quilting #jellyroll #precuts
The #Spaquilt is so called that because of the fabrics used. In this workshop, #ValerieNesbitt selects a range of 5″ squares. You can use layer cakes too. This is simple four patch and rectangles, coupled with rows of squares & then joined with #sashing – simple components to create a very versatile quilt. If you didn’t want to use precuts, then you could raid your fabric stash. It will look great as a #scrapquilt. In the workshop notes Valerie has included some alternative sizes for you.
Log Cabin is one of Valerie's favourite patterns although this quilt is inspired by the more traditional versions and is just a quarter of the block. Made with precuts here, or just as easily from your stash, the pieces are divided by sashing and the regular block turned on point for a more interesting look.
