Next to George Lucas, Ralph McQuarrie (1929-2012) is the man most responsible for the look and feel of the Star Wars universe. I have scoured the internet (and boy have I scoured) to bring you high-resolution un-cropped versions of the Ralph McQuarrie paintings that he did for the Star Wars movies. Sadly, Ralph McQuarrie is no longer around to produce fabulous new paintings, but you'd be amazed at how many of his "unused" sketches and concepts have popped up in the Clone Wars TV series and…

ROTJ: "Bantha Expressway" by Ralph McQuarrie. This is the main entrance to Jabba's Palace.  Dignitaries from around the galaxy who wished to see the mighty Jabba would enter through these impressive gates.  In ROTJ, C-3PO and R2-D2 are actually knocking on essentially a "service entrance" located on back of the great palace.
