Well, I'm happy to finally be finished this project! I started it last spring just before I started feeling icky with my pregnancy. I worked at it s-l-o-w-l-y for awhile then ceased altogether. Every time I'm refinishing furniture ,one of my favorite parts of the project is to sand the top completely and give it a new color. That gorgeous roll top desk has a few coats of jacobean stain which is just simply gorgeous- warm and dark enough to underline the wood grain on it.
