procrastistamper: Tri-Fold Shutter Card Tutorial

Okay, so last weekend I told you I'd teach you how to make the Tri-Fold Shutter Card. It's really easy, just a few scores and folds and panels. [Remember: you can always click on any photo in my blog posts to see it full size!] First, cut a piece of card stock to 10-1/2" x 5-1/2". In landscape orientation, score in from the left at 1-3/4" and at 3-1/2". Then score in from the right at 1-3/4" and at 3-1/2". (see picture below for visual) You will now make a CUT 1-1/2" down from the top edge…

Seongsook's Creations: Tri-Fold Shutter Card Template

Tri-Fold Shutter Card Template 1. Cut a piece of card stock 10-1/2" x 5-1/2". 2. Score at 1-3/4", 3-1/2", 7" and 8-3/4". 3. Make a cut 1-1/2" down from the top edge and 1-1/2" up from the bottom edge, making sure the cut line is ONLY from the first score mark to the last score mark. 4. Fold sections forward and back, in the manner that will facilitate the fold of the card. 5. Fold the card back to lie flat and embellishing panels. *Sample card that I made in 2012. Thanks for stopping by!

Today's card is another fancy fold card for you called the tri-fold shutter. How cool is this card?!? I love how it stands up and can be put on display - sure to bring the recipient lots of happiness. I made this card using 8.5" x 11" card stock for the base, cut to 10.5" x 5.5". Folded up, it measures 3.5" x 5.5". You can also make this card with 12" x 12" card stock, which will measure 4" x 5.5" when folded, but I don't have any 12" x 12" card stock :).

A Different Kind of Tri Fold Card by Beejo - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I recently came across this type of card online. I liked that it was a bit different than any I had seen before. I layered the designer paper onto beige card stock, and inked all the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink. The bow was ivory which I coloured with copper shimmer spray. (hard to tell here, but it matches the paper very well) I tied he bow using my home made tool. (based on the bow easy) The hat is a digi image coloured with Copics, layered and popped up. I used a sentiment that…
