"Reds", 1928. The (Communist) Karelian Jäger Battalion on parade in Petrozavodsk. A build up of military forces ensued on both sides between the two world wars. The totalitarianism in Finland noted in the 1980s and 1990s is mostly a product of the German side (Jaegers), followed by Italy's Fascist influences and WW II's preachings of Mussolini. The Communist socialism in turn came due to Russia (in this photo).
