Finnish Martha Dolls
Collection by Marjatta • Last updated 10 weeks ago
There was no factory where the Martha dolls were made. The composition heads and limbs were made by H.E.Nurmi and clothes and bodies were sewed by housewives. The idea was to get work for women at home. Dolls were put together at Nukkela and then they were sent to buyers. Martha dolls were made from 1908 till 1974, when it was sold. Now they are very collectible in Finland. Dolls were made by other makers too, but they were never so loved as Martha dolls.
