Portraits of my family, uncle Stefano | Camilla Catrambone ( The work of Camilla Catrambone caught my eye because it was very interesting how her interpretation of portraits was not of people but the collection of item's put togther to describe something. When we first saw the photographs by Ellen Hoverkamp, we almost took them for paintings. The 3-dimensionality of her photographs are so vivid and striking, they are reminiscent of the still-life paintings of Flemish and Dutch masters. This is due to Ellen's pioneering use of the scanner.
