Snowball Fight...kids write 3 things about themselves on a sheet of white paper.  They do not write their names on the paper.  Wad it up and on your command, have a "snowball" (or baseball) fight.  At the end of 1 minute, each student grabs the nearest snowball and tries to guess who wrote it.  Would be great at the beginning of the year!

The Emotions Tree is an image that I’ve used to help students identify how they’re feeling about a situation. Once they can associate with the feeling of a person on the emotions tree, we can work together to find the words to describe the feeling.

This would be neat to do with the boys every Thanksgiving and see how their mind evolves and they mature. I'm sure right now, they're thankful for gummy bears and Mickey Mouse.
