I have been very honest with my son when he asks about his "father". My son focuses on the people that are there for him each & every day. He knows not to hate his "father", but why would he want someone that put their own life before their child's? I am blessed to have a child that understands the complexity of a deadbeat parent, & that understands that it is not his fault that his "father" isn't involved. He knows that a man that isn't his biological dad loves him as his own.
Someone from Taylorsville, Utah, US posted a whisper, which reads "I wish people knew how hard Father's Day is when your dad isn't who he used to be cause of his damn alcohol addiction and he doesn't give a shit about his kids "
