Orkidea 1954 - Sarpaneva, Timo

Orkidea 3568 Sarpaneva, Timo, Iittala

Timo Sarpaneva laajensi Iittalan lasivalikoimaa useilla taidelasiesineillä, kuten Kajakki ja Orkidea, joka palkittiin Grand Prix’lla Milanon Triennaalissa 1954. Samana vuonna Orkidea valittiin maailman kauneimmaksi esineeksi Yhdysvalloissa. Orkidean alkuperäinen tarkoitus oli olla taideteos, lasiveistos, mutta se sopii myös vaasiksi yhdelle orkidealle. Täyttä kristallia oleva teos on tikkuilmapuhallettu ja pintahiottu.

A331’s signature shape consists of white aluminium shade and polished brass-plated steel rings that filter the light in the most beautiful manner. Beehive is a fine example of Aalto's fascination with indirect light and organic…
