The Building D(emountable) is an elegant combination of steel, wood and glass. It has a steel framework with L-shaped load-bearing beams. The glass of the curtain wall façade is mounted directly to the steel columns, without intermediate window frames. Kerto LVL elements are used for the floors.
Kairos Montessori: school facilities
Kairos Montessori’s school facilities were built using volumetric modules made mainly of Kerto® LVL. Embraced with the Montessori teaching method, sustainability and respect for the environment were important factors during the project.
School made of volumetric modules
Modular construction was chosen for this project because of its efficiency and speed, which ensured minimal disruption on site to the school. The project was completed in 6 months, including 1 month on-site for interior finishes and connections.
Overall building was prefabricated under environmentally controlled conditions, allowing electrical wiring, plumbing, and finishes to be almost completely finished off-site. That led to a reduced on-site impact and lesser risk of unexpected events during construction.
