Elvis Presley is pictured with his cousin Carroll "Junior" Smith (Gene Smith's elder brother) in the back seat of a taxi cab in Miami, FL on Friday, August 3, 1956. He came to The Sunshine State for a few weeks of touring before heading to Los Angeles, CA to begin filming on his first movie "Love Me Tender". Over two days (August 3 + 4, 1956), Elvis managed seven shows at the Olympia Theater in Miami, Florida.

June Juanico
Elvis - Look at those girls. This is from the famous/infamous Florida tour in August, 1956. Elvis was traveling with his girlfriend, June Juanico, and the shows were absolute mayhem. June Juanico describes walking through a crowd of Elvis fans and they recognized her as “his girl” and would shout “WHORE” at her, etc. Insane!! Elvis would say to her, “Don’t worry about it, baby. They don’t mean nothing by it.”
