A popular ancient Greek costume was the Peplos. It was worn by Greek women & was a very commonly seen attire in olden times. Peplos was a longish looking tubular piece of cloth which had a folded upper edge. When it was worn, it draped the lower waist while the cloth’s bottom draped the ankles. Women mostly gathered the cloth around their waist & the upper edge was pinned using a brooch over the shoulder. The peplos was also used during sacred rituals & was made out of one piece cloth material.
