Dirt and Boogers: Get Organized: Outdoor Toys--I like this idea but would want some kind of flip lids on the containers, I think.
Turned an old fiberglass sailing boat into a huge sandbox for the kiddos.
Play area for kids... I'd like to have an area like this for Kellie in our yard- maybe with a really small picket fence around it and a play house/water & sand table/balance beam/stepping stones/chalkboard
to do: make a sand pit. I would say this is for the kids and grands, but it would really be for me to play in too!

Husband built this kidney shaped stacked flagstone sandbox. It's approximately 7'x13'. Perfect option for an area that is not level. The ground toward the tall grass in the picture is actually 1.5feet lower than the tallest end. The sandbox actually looks like a nice addition to the backyard:)
