to do to the tree stumps ... ? Shutters will keep out the birds. Full sun, close to flowers. Covered/sheltered from rain. Needs the heat for incubation. Ladybugs & solitary bees. Solitary female, can lay up to 2 eggs per day creating its nest and food source. Life span = 30 days. Males hatch first, females 1-2 weeks after. Larvae cocoon, and over winter.
